On October 9–10, the revision workshop for GB 8408, “Safety Requirements for Large Amusement Rides,” was successfully held in Zhuji, Zhejiang. The meeting brought together representatives from market regulatory authorities, research institutes, inspection agencies, and amusement‑equipment manufacturers to engage in in-depth discussions on the draft revisions to the national standard, pooling industry expertise to further refine the safety‑regulation framework for amusement rides.

The two-day conference featured a tightly packed agenda that covered the entire process of standard revision. On the morning of October 9, leaders from the Special Equipment Bureau of the State Administration for Market Regulation, the China Academy of Special Equipment Inspection, and the Zhejiang Provincial Administration for Market Regulation delivered remarks, outlining the background and objectives of this national standard revision. Director Song Weike presented an update on the collection of public comments and the progress of clause revisions. That day, all participants engaged in session‑by‑session, article‑by‑article deliberations, thoroughly exchanging views on safety‑related technical requirements across a range of scenarios.
As a representative of the industry, Zhejiang Pengming Amusement Equipment Co., Ltd. was invited to participate extensively in this standard‑revision workshop. This not only represents a great honor for the company but also entails a significant sense of responsibility to the sector. General Manager Wu Meixing attended the meeting and, drawing on years of hands‑on project experience with products such as gliding wings, tubular slides, and high‑altitude zip lines, offered constructive input—grounded in the unique operating conditions of amusement equipment—on safety‑related practices including redundant safeguards, intelligent monitoring, and cushioning‑braking systems. By integrating real‑world expertise gained from frontline equipment manufacturing and scenic‑area project operations, the company contributed to the discussion and refinement of the national standard’s provisions.
GB 8408 is the most fundamental mandatory national safety standard in China’s large-scale amusement‑ride sector, governing safety management throughout the entire lifecycle—from equipment design and manufacturing to inspection and operation. This revision of the standard aligns with emerging industry trends, addressing critical gaps in safety regulations for new types of amusement rides and for high‑traffic, tidal‑flow scenarios, and thus holds significant importance for the industry’s move toward high‑quality development.
Pengming Amusement’s participation in the GB 8408 standard revision workshop reflects the industry’s recognition of the company’s technological expertise and practical achievements, while also presenting a significant opportunity for the company to fulfill its primary responsibility for the safety of special‑purpose equipment. Moving forward, Pengming Amusement will continue to closely align with evolving standards, uphold national standards as the baseline for safety, integrate the principles of intrinsic safety and multi‑layered protection throughout the entire product development process, and strengthen collaboration across the industry. In doing so, the company will help refine the safety standards framework for amusement rides and jointly promote the safe, high‑quality development of China’s large‑scale amusement‑facility sector.
